Attractive property comes with site

RUMOURS abound that a house which cost in the region of €1.3 million in Hettyfield, Douglas this year is to be knocked and rebuilt. It had a guide price of €850,000 through Peter Cave of HOK.

Which makes the €595,000 asking price for 26, South Lodge, low in terns of neighbourhood site costs. And in this case, you get an attractive, detached property with garage in one of the most sought-after areas in Cork city.

Location, location, location, says Sean McCarthy of ERA Downey McCarthy Murphy, who’s selling this little gem in South Lodge.

Right now, it needs a bit of a decorative makeover, but it’s highly likely that buyers will go for the extension option, as three bedrooms doesn’t cut the mustard for family homes at this level.

Built in the early sixties, the house has a wide double bay to the front and a detached garage to the side. The house’s large site includes lovely, private gardens to the rear.

Running to 1,215 square feet, number 26 has sitting room, family room, galley kitchen and conservatory overlooking the back garden. There’s a guest bathroom off the hallway and three bedrooms with a bathroom overhead.
