Local businessman splashes out close to €4m for Belline House

ALMOST a year to the day since it went to market, Belline House in Co Kilkenny has been sold, for close to €4 million.

The three-storey mansion on a 100-acre estate, was home to Lady Caroline Lamb, the outrageous lover of Lord Byron.

The agents in the sale were Barry Walsh of Sherry FitzGerald Walsh and Ian McCarthy of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald, who wouldn’t confirm the sale price, believed to be close to the 4m guide price.
