A new three-bed semi in Midleton is now a €300,000-plus product, as the most recent launch this weekend confirms, and demand has rocketed in recent weeks. Prices east of the tunnel are now expected to rise by 12% to 15% this year alone, with good news on the jobs and Amgen construction front, and with a rail link set to open by 2008.

Sailing and selling into the feelgood market is a new homes scheme Maple Woods, on the Ballinacurra Road. Being developed by the Hayes family of Forest Brook Ltd, it will have over 220 units on 23 acres bought last year for over €18 million.
