Courtmac homes the height of luxury
Coming in at the €500,000 mark, these detached, stone-faced properties offer a luxury finish for a broad spectrum of buyers, says auctioneer Don Brennan.
Right now, four of the units have been sold, with one local buyer, two Cork buyers and a Dubliner taking up the holiday-home position. And even though Cork city is a 40-minute commute, there are plenty of people willing to take on the daily drive for the lifestyle option that living in Courtmacsherry offers, says Mr Brennan.
Apart from bracing sea air and excellent views, the harbour-side village has a range of good amenities and Bandon town is just a 15-minute drive away, with the village of Timoleague just up the road.
Spruce Grove is, as the name suggests, set on a wooded site just behind the Courtmacsherry House Hotel, but this is not visible from the site. A few minutes walk to the pier, each house has a generous plot, says Mr Brennan and are being built by Bertie Dineen, who has a long track record of building in this area of West Cork.
Each house comes with two reception rooms, a study, kitchen/dining room, utility, guest bathroom, four bedrooms, of which two are ensuite and a main bathroom. Generous PC sums are available for all the usual fittings and as work has already begun on site, some of the houses will have a post-Christmas completion.
