World’s End is pretty but in need of work

What was once a little row of houses near an old lighthouse on the outskirts of Kinsale, is now one of the more sought-after addresses in a town of high demand.

This house looks pretty and pristine on the outside but is a bit of a wreck on the inside, says auctioneer Victoria Murphy, who adds drily that viewing is not a problem - you can see right in.

Ms Murphy has had a run of wrecks lately: she sold a property of a similar quality in Summercove last month and is keen to repeat her success. Which is why she is rather putting the gun to the head of prospective purchasers by offering a reduced pre-Christmas price.

Well, it worked before, didn’t it?

In fact, the purchaser of the Summercove property came all the way from Waterford, to buy and the deal was sewn up within weeks.

This time round, the agent has put a guide price of €195,000 and expects immediate interest.

The house has never been touched in 100 years and has just four rooms and a rear yard, but there could be more space tucked in under a new roof, suggest Ms Murphy.
