The only thing missing from Judeville is someone to enjoy its pleasures

A HOUSE up for sale has a DIY store almost on its doorstep, but the proximity is of absolutely no use to any new owners — there’s nothing left to do or spend on the property.

In the Beatles song Hey Jude, the lyric went ‘take a sad song, and make it better.’ Taking a sad house and making it infinitely better is what the vendors of Judeville did.

The outside gives no clue as to what has gone on behind closed doors and the unremarkable facade.

While ready to walk into for family occupants, its four bedrooms and possible use of a reception room as a fifth bedroom will also see investors give this house a look.

External walls have been dry-lined and insulated; central heating is in; there are new windows; a private sun room has been added on to the back by the kitchen; walls are newly dashed outside and smartly painted inside; new fascia and soffits are fitted; semi-solid new wood floors are down and quality tiling is installed.

Ann O’Mahony of Sherry FitzGerald launched Judeville last week with a E350,000 guide. After just one day and two bids it was up to E370,000 and the bids are set to go quite a bit higher over the next few weeks.

The finished product has well over 1,500 sq ft of space, highly liveable in with a smart layout of reception rooms.

The ground level manages to fit in a good utility space, a guest WC, and cloakroom, plus a bedroom with en suite shower room.

Upstairs, the builder Der Kelleher managed to find space for three bedrooms, including a 17’ by 10’ main bedroom with a wall of built-ins and shower room en suite.
