“ALL along the watchtower princes kept the view while all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too”. Bob Dylan might not have had Leamcon Tower, at Knock, Schull, in mind when he wrote that song, but it kind of fits.

Leamcon does have far-ranging views of the most scenic areas of West Cork, parts of Kerry and the wide Atlantic ocean.

This four-storey tower, built at the height of fears of a Napoleonic invasion, (and one of many throughout the country), has a perfect vantage point to take in all of Roaringwater Bay as far as Cape Clear.
