TWO three-storey houses are on the market this week on College Rd in Cork city and another property, in the same location, has been sold for a sum believed to be well in excess of its guide price of €500,000.

The Lodge, Brookfield, only on the market since late January, has been bought in trust and the identity of the purchaser is unknown.

Selling agent Billy Casey of Casey and Kingston, has refused to comment on the sale.

Likely contenders for the property are UCC, who would gain another access to Brookfield House, (whose lodge it originally was), or medics looking for superbly restored consulting rooms

Lyndhurst is an Edwardian-style property on this, the most residential side of College road and it’s almost opposite the leisure centre at Brookfield.

Large, well-maintained houses are the norm here and while off-street parking is tight, this property comes with a drive that swings around the back of the semi-detached house.

Elegant, and with all its features intact, this could be a find for families looking to move in from the suburbs, but without sacrificing space.

This is also the level at which Billy Casey, of Casey and Kingston expects to sell number 6, Fernhurst Terrace. A family home for years, the house is in good condition and comes with parking for two cars.

Accommodation is spread over three levels and includes a main hallway with guest WC, a drawing room with bay window, a dining room and fitted kitchen.
