The Granard, Churchtown North property is in North Cork, near Buttevant, and holds out the option of country living on a productive farm. It is likely to attract interest from counties Cork, Limerick and Tipperary.

It carries a €1 million price guide, and while the amount of land is the main attraction and value, the house is an attractive residence of character, but without period grandeur.

The long-drawn out residence has some accommodation at first floor level, one bedroom, a WC and an attic storage area, while the ground floor has dining room, sitting room with stone fireplace and hearth, office area, kitchen/dining with oak floor and pine ceiling, three bedrooms, bathroom, shower room and a utility.

The house is set in the middle of its 95 acres of largely flat land, described as good agricultural land, the house has a long approach drive, veg garden, and a wide range of old stone buildings, including stores, three lose boxes, machinery shed, cubicles, outdoor pony arena, and dog kennels.

The land has good road frontage, and the woodland walks and pond give it a quiet country retreat feel, says estate agent Peter Cave of Hamilton Osborne King, who expects it to sell for over €1 million with an auction date yet to be finalised.
