Standard bungalow, but the views are fantastic
And with respect to inhabitants of the low-slung home, it’s just your bog-standard bungalow. So why the price?
Two words: Camden Road. One of most salubrious addresses in a quiet, Crosshaven, (the Co Cork village that doesn’t have a petrol pump), it has the most magnificent views of Crosshaven harbour and Currabinny. You’d forget how gorgeous this part of the coast is until you view it from this house’s site on a crisp, blue morning.
It’s remarkable how un-Kinsaled the village is, considering it’s a 20-minute skip to town. New developments are in place, with more on the way, but the sleepy pace of Crosser continues unchanged.
Houses in mature areas like the Camden Road are in high demand, and with a three-quarter acre site, and perhaps some negotiating potential for rear access, the property is valuable as a development site.
Michael Twomey of DNG Harris’ Carrigaline office is the agent here and says there could be site potential to the rear, with the house retained, an extension and renovation of the property or demolition.
The surrounding properties are single, detached houses on large sites, indicating that high density, or a high level scheme, wouldn’t work with the elevation.
While Costa Villa was in tune with its time it will need considerable investment to bring it up to the standards of buyers at this level.
