Have the waters and the wild at Windlands

THE waters and the wild — plus 3,000 square feet of space all wrapped up in a Kinsale address.

That’s what on offer through joint agents Eamon O’Neill and Dominic Daly at the curiously-named townland of Tissaxon Beg.

Windlands is 2.5 miles from Kinsale and its gardens run down to Whitecastle Creek, a tidal inlet of the Bandon river which runs into the sea at Kinsale.

Standing on a high, 0.75-acre site, this house was considerably remodelled some five years ago. It was put up for sale in the last three years, but was withdrawn.

It’s now back on the market again now with a price tag of €600,000.

Windlands has a massive, L-shaped sitting and dining room, a family room and kitchen with separate walk-in larder. Also on the ground floor is an office, which doubles as the sixth bedroom, with its own entrance and to the side a door to the ground-floor bathroom.

The upper floor has five bedrooms, one of which is en-suite and a main bathroom.

Out-offices include a double garage, with roller door and a large, garden shed with access to the garage. Oil heating is installed.

As might be expected, the gardens provide complete privacy for the house. There is a herb garden and a sun-trap patio at the rear.
