Dromahane scheme attracts big interest

CORK County Council’s policy of bringing developments to small villages in their region seems to be working if the response to new schemes in Dromahane, North Cork is anything to go by.

Roche Developments are now on their third build in the village, which is just two miles from the main Cork/Mallow/Limerick road and just a few minutes drive from Mallow town.

Newberry Green was launched in late February this year and all of the houses in phase one are now sold, says property agent for the company, Mike Hurrell.

With a choice of six house types, ranging from two-bed townhouses to four-bed detached properties, the majority of buyers have, surprisingly, come from the Cork city area, says Mr Hurrell.

Price and location may have something to with the fast uptake. Houses here start at 131,000 for townhouses, with three-bed semi’s starting at €158,000 and top of the range, four-beds at €230,000.

Newberry Green follows on Newberry Grove and Páirc na Gréine, earlier schemes built by developer Peter Roche and so far, the company have built the bones of 88 houses in Dromahane, says Hurrell.

The company are also the only residential builders to hold the ISO9002, he adds, which they received for quality of management, administration, and level of customer service.

The level of finish and quality of build are also factors for strong repeat business, says Mr Hurrell, as they offer a fully finished house, down to tiling, fireplaces, painting and landscaping.
