HAVING an individual driveway from the public road is not something you would associate with a housing development.

Then again Ashdale Drive in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork, isn’t a run of the mill development.

Nine properties have already been sold. The properties will be ready to move into in a few months time.

The detached homes range in price from €345,000 to €420,000 depending on the size.

The smaller homes (1,800 sq ft) have five bedrooms, while the larger properties (2,600 sq ft) have four very spacious bedrooms.

“Most owners have opted to knock through the wall of the box room in the smaller homes,” said auctioneer Timothy Sullivan.

Accessed off a quiet country road, within a half mile from Carrigtwohill, Ashdale Drive in Terrysland is set to become family land.

All of the properties have been bought by families seeking luxury homes in a tranquil location, but close to the city. The design of the properties is simple but impressive, with a white stately facade.

Three house designs were on sale in the exclusive development. The 2,000 sq ft house types were all sold in a matter of weeks.

Accommodation includes a kitchen, dining room, lounge and utility on the ground floor. Upstairs there are four or five bedrooms depending on which house type you choose. A large double garage comes with the most expensive houses which would be suitable for conversion, according to Mr Sullivan.
