The Lodge is an anomaly: slap bang in the middle of the green belt, it’s the only house on this side of the road and will probably be the last.

Built over 200 years ago, it was the gate lodge for the Mount Desert estate, now a state of the art nursing home run by the Bons Secour sisters, who own most of the land on the same side of the Lee as the Lodge.
