A TYPICAL Kinsale, Co Cork house, number 1 Abbey Lane has a higgledy-piggledy look and a suitably antique interior with its half timbered walls and low ceilings.

Unique house with antique features in picturesque Kinsale

It's more a medieval than vernacular look and explains why Kinsale has such an attraction for visitors, apart altogether from its wealth of restaurants and characterful pubs.

Priced at €290,000, this 1,200 square foot would be good value in Cork city in Kinsale, where high prices prevail, it shouldn't be on the books of Sheehy Brothers for very long.

According to Patricia O'Regan, prices in Kinsale have levelled off considerably and she says you can get really good value in the harbour town now. The upper end of the market, she says is a little sticky, but at the mid-range, prices are still bullish.

Number 1, Abbey Lane comes with a living room of 18' by 16', an antique pine fitted kitchen, a lobby and bathroom on the ground floor and three bedrooms and two bathrooms on the upper floors.

The interior is cute and has lots of old-style features like ladderback doors and wooden ceilings and is in very good condition.

Also, its just a walk to the centre of town.
