LONG associated with fields of mobile homes, the tide is turning slightly in favour of permanent houses at Blue Flag beach Owenahincha in West Cork.

One scheme here, the 24-house Sandycove Beach development with holiday home tax breaks, is just finished construction, work is about to start on a second and separate development, and planning is about to be sought for a third project.

Fifteen houses in Cois Farraige, in three house types priced from E230,000, are being sold by South Western Property Services, with six already spoken for.
