Pared down living in grade A area

FANCY a property purchase with a hitch? A tow-bedroomed (and no, that’s no misprint) home and a pitch of a different kind is being offered by Kenmare auctioneer Mark Daly.

The TV Treasure Island star and Kenmare estate agent is offering a rundown mobile home for sale at Templenoe, outside of the heritage town on the Ring of Kerry.

He’s well placed to advise on the sale, seeing as he has more than a passing knowledge of impromptu dwellings. And, while his company, Sean Daly and Co, deal with some million euro sales in the area, they are not above dealing in the, shall we say, tighter end of the market.

Mark is selling this less than salubrious mobile home for offers in the region of 45,000, an affordable entry level for an area that has some very fine mansions and a posh golf course to boot.

One could tee off from the caravan, the course is so close and the sea is just 150 metres away, with Pat Spillane’s Pub just up the road.

According to Mark, the van will need replacement or repair, but it occupies one slender strip of land in a south-facing location overlooking the beautiful bay of Kenmare and its islands.
