Extension plans awaiting new owners

A RECENT full grant of planning permission for extension and modification opens the door to make a whole new home of the curiously titled house Donya Sabuk, on Cork city’s Model Farm Road.

However, buyers don’t necessarily have to follow the architect’s plans for the full upgrade - the fact planning has been granted for a significant level of improvements means more modest changes should be easy enough to get approved as well, says Barry Nagle of Global Properties.

He seeks €495,000 for the detached house Donya Sabuk (an African word, it means buffalo herd) on a one-third of an acre site, with about 1,800 sq ft of space. It is currently under offer at about 420,000.

The grant of planning, after appeal, allows for a new double garage by the drive entrance, and significant changes front and back which would also grow the house by a further 400 sq ft to about 2,200 sq ft.

Current accommodation includes sitting room, dining room, kitchen, utility, guest loo, three first floor bedrooms and main bathroom.

Location is close to the Rendezvous bar on Model Farm Road, near the Technology Park.
