Life on the waterfront

SOME of the biggest ever house schemes in Cork city and suburbs have moved into gear this week, representing thousands of new homes, and, significantly, a good range of supply just east and west of the city.

Life on the waterfront

The highly significant schemes include the launch of the first houses at Jacob’s Island (see below), on the waterfront near the Mahon Point development which is racing through a building schedule with Debenhams and Tesco set to move in as anchor tenants.

Across on the other side of Blackrock village, meanwhile, developers Lyonshall this week lodged for planning permission for 550 new homes in the grounds of the former Ursuline Convent, with designs by Dublin architects O’Mahony Pike.
