Increase in the number of houses and apartments

THE level of house starts for the first nine months of the year is up 5% for all of 2000, according to the latest figures from Home-Bond.

While the improved supply of new homes is gathering momentum, so too is the increase in market share for apartments.

In 1998 the total registrations for Carlow was 413, down to 283 in 2000 and up to 299 in 2001. Figures for this year to date show a total number of 329 registrations.
