Reduced price on manor

THE price has dropped back on Glenbeg House, one of Waterford’s oldest dwellings, a fortified 17th century manor house with three towers at its corners.

Restored to best conservation practices, it first hit the market with a €1.2 million price guide for its Swiss owners, and now that has been dropped to €900,000, with bids sought by tender by October 24.

The setting is close to the Waterford-Cork border by Lismore and Glencairn, adjacent to the Blackwater river but without water frontage.
