Former bank exceeds pre-auction guide by €2m

KILKENNY’S magnificent and supremely sited Bank of Ireland premises at 1 to 3 The Parade, has new owners who stumped up a hefty €5.35 million at auction to take on the bank.

Bought in trust by a local firm of solicitors, it went almost 2 million over its conservative pre-auction guide through agents Sherry FitzGerald McCreery.

The building is primely set for a retail-led development, and is in a corner setting across the road from Kilkenny Castle and grounds, with Kilkenny Design a few doors away.
