All rooms are sunny side up at Ballinascarthy property

A BIG house on a big, one-acre site at Kill South, Ballinascarthy, Co Cork, offers top spec living, says John Loughnan of Sherry FitzGerald O’Neill.

A brand new house, it comes with low stamp duty for buyers, and is on the market at €550,000.

Designed to maximise its aspect, the sun moves around the house all day, he says, and ends at the western gable where there’s a square sunroom off the living room.

The house has solid oak joinery throughout the ground floor and the main staircase is like a piece of furniture, says Mr Loughnan.

There’s a range of living rooms, including a large kitchen/diner which runs from back to front and there are four bedrooms overhead, two of which are en suite. The house also comes with a detached garage.

And, there’s a gurgling stream on the acre boundary, with post and rail fencing also in place.

Ballinascarthy is the village which was the birthplace of the original Henry Ford. Nearby is the Lisselan Estate, the gardens of which are open to the public.
