New owner and new name for President's Inn

WHAT price a president?

Ballybunion played host to former US president Bill Clinton, prompting rumours that the self-same man was going to buy an Irish hideaway.

Now, with the hoopla having died down but the town as busy as ever, the well-known bar The President's Inn has changed hands for an undisclosed sum.

The pub and guesthouse was entirely renovated and refurbished some years ago by the vendors.

Likely to have sold for over €600,000, the bar's new owner has stamped his own personality on the property now trading as Badger Kelly's though with the Clinton link, the Wily Fox might have been as appropriate.

Selling agent was Pat Kearney of Rooney Auctioneers, who said the price "is considered highly satisfactory in current trading conditions".
