THE tide rises and falls on one side of Castle Road in Cork’s Blackrock, while a short distance behind the €500 million Mahon Point development is expected to bring a rising local economic tide and a surge in property values too.

Built just a couple of years in advance of the expected uplift, and already well settled in, are the homes in the Gate Lodge scheme near to Blackrock Castle and the harbour-fringing amenity walkways.

Up for sale here in Gate Lodge is no 65, a four-bedroomed semi-detached/end of terrace house built only a few years old and very well decorated, according to estate agent Gerard O’Dea of Cohalan Downing.
