Village bar with lots of potential finds a buyer

A NEW owner is bedded down at the Heron’s Perch bar, in booming Glanmire in Cork.

The village bar, in the centre of this now-almost suburban spread of new commuter housing, was sold for around €700,000.

It backs onto a scenic stretch of a tidal inlet of the Lee with space for a beer garden.

New owner is Roy O’Sullivan, aged in his 20s, who previously worked in the Elm Tree bar in Glounthane.

Selling agent was Don Murphy, who said the bar had considerable further potential and has already been further invested in internally within a week of changing hands.

Vendor was Tadhg Lynch, a former teacher who operated the bar for a number of years and who also owns an off-licence in Glanmire village.

Details: Don Murphy 021-4821788.
