LEEWARD is one of a select few homes on Cork’s Marina. Set at the Blackrock village end of the scenic waterside amenity area, Leeward, a detached 1960s home, hit the market a fortnight ago and already has the wind in its sale.

Guided at €750,000 by estate agent Timothy Sullivan, it was already approaching this figure by week's end, buoyed up by the absolute scarcity value of homes on this Leeside stretch.

"There's only seven or eight houses on all of the Marina, the views are great and the back garden is south-facing," says Mr Sullivan, who notes that the site alone a good quarter acre is a strong selling factor.
