Early buyers will get chocs and champagne

CHOCOLATE and champagne hampers are on the go this Valentine’s Day/weekend to anyone who takes the plunge — in the house-buying stakes in Midleton.

The latest phase of Castle Redmond kicks off with three and four-bed semis on offer by very active builder John Barry, who is developing in both Midleton and Mallow and selling through Sherry FitzGerald O’Donovan.

Prices are from €225,000 for a 1,200 sq ft three bed semi, and a four-bed semi of 1,300 sq ft can be had from €235,000, and homes in this latest phase are bigger than previous houses here, according to John Hornibrook of Sherry FitzGerald.

The new phase launch is today and tomorrow afternoon, 2 to 4.30 pm, with the added attraction of chocs and champers for those that are prepared to dive right in and book a house. Adding to the heady attractions is the fact that houses are free of stage payments, easing the initial financial outlay for those with a fear of commitment.

There are about 170 homes so far in the development, with 113 to come in the new phase, and the development is just by the town’s by-pass and the roundabout at the eastern end of Midleton, in the throes of a housing boom and with hopes riding onwards of a commuter rail link back to Cork city.

Features of the houses at Castle Redmond include bay window, main bedroom en suite, guest WC, landscaped green areas, PVC woodgrain glazing and gas heating.
