Strong interest expected for auction of prime site

A PRIME site sale which went astray thanks to a mapping error is headed in the right direction once more.

Strong interest expected for auction of prime site

A 3.5-acre site with full planning permission for 25 houses by the Rochestown Road and ring road network in Cork was withdrawn from the market late last year when a mapping discrepancy forced the vendor into discussions with Cork Country Council.

With the site now back on the market and ready to roll, agent Frank V Murphy expects strong interest for the ready to go site, going for auction on July 8.

Offers last time around hit €1.6 million, about €65,000 per house site, and the manageable size and location should see similar bidding once more, he hopes.

“The fact it has full planning means developers can commence building almost immediately and the attractiveness of the house design and layout by Kinsale architect Richard Rainey,” says Mr Murphy.

Over 60 sets of details have already gone out to prospective bidders.
