Keeping up with the Vinnie Jones
Hot on the heels of the proposed sale of Vinnie Jones' million euro manse come two other properties on the Beara side of Kenmare.
The lower-priced of these is a site of three-quarters of an acre with sea views, that's currently up for grabs at €90,000.
Climbing up the scale, the same agents have a three bedroom house on 4.3 acres with sea frontage in the same townland and it has a guide price of €675,000.
However, buyers have the option of the house and two acres for €575,000.
Renovated to a high standard, the property has landscaped grounds, including a large pond, and generous living accommodation. The sale also includes a boat house.
The most newsworthy of all the Coornaguillagh sales is that of Mr Jones the footballer turned actor is moving out of his newly-built property to a large holding on the opposite side of Kenmare Bay.
The completed, but not decorated house is for sale through Eileen Lynch of Remax Coastal Properties for a sum of €1 million.
Just 8 miles from Kenmare and a mile from Cloonee Lake, the property has frontage onto a quiet pebble beach.
The access to the public from here is part of the reason for Vinnie Jones' move, says his solicitor, Colm Murphy.
Jones wants more privacy, and hankers after a large holding for horses and dogs and plans to build on a 75-acre farm he's purchased on the Sneem side of Kenmare.
Described as bright and spacious by Eileen Lynch of Remax Coastal, the house is simple and restrained: it comes with a living room, kitchen/ dining room, utility, guest cloakroom and four en suite bedrooms.
So far, interest has been confined to Irish viewers, says Ms Lynch, but she's confident interest will grow as the holiday season pics up.
The house is a snatch at the price, she says.
