Superhighway to heaven

STANGS HOUSE may as well be in Dublin as far as the new wave of county house buyers is concerned. With broadband connection, business people can easily choose to work from home, says David Ashmore of HOK Country.

Superhighway to heaven

“The market has changed because buyers are able to get a much higher price for their property in Dublin, so they’re buying a townhouse or apartment in the city and their main house in the country.

The property is eight miles from Kilkenny, near the village of Gowran, but, says Mr Ashmore, the Dublin buyer will be attracted to two things - infrastructure and broadband. The country house market has grown by 30% in the last year within a 30 to 60 mile limit of Dublin, he says, because of improved infrastructure.
