Valentia holidays homes on offer

THE showhouse for a range of holiday homes at Knightstown, on Valentia Island, will be open this weekend for those who fancy a holiday spot that’s within driving, rather than flying distance, of home.

Built by local man, Jim Lynch, and marketed by estate agents, Tom Spillane of Killarney and FitzGerald and O’Connor of Cahirciveen, the Reenellen development is on a par, price-wise with apartments on the Costas.

Starting at €196,500 for a three bed end-of-terrace townhouse, and peaking at €230,000 for an end of terrace four-bed, there are three house types from which to choose and 14 houses on offer. Built in the grounds of Reenellen House, four of the house have been sold already: they range from three to four bedroomed units.

With a waterfront location at Knightstown, the townhouses are ideally located for holiday makers. Even the car ferry which runs from March to October is almost next door and all the amenities of the village are to hand, including shops, pubs, restaurants and a diving centre, for which the island is a huge draw.

Of course, there’s also the road from the mainland as well. Phase two of the scheme will offer studios and duplex apartments in a two-bedroomed format.
