Red-faced opportunity
The six bedroomed property is divided into two separate units, but it could quite easily be converted into three apartments, according to Mark Gosling of James G Coughlan & Associates.
Accommodation at number 3 Frankfield Terrace comprises of a sitting room, kitchen and bedroom on the ground floor.
On the first floor there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. All the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes.
The current owner is an investor. He restored the house six years ago, and it’s still in good condition, according to Mr Gosling.
“It’s ready to move into straight away. A brand new roof was added 12-months ago,” said the auctioneer.
He added the guide price was €400,000, and pointed out the property’s in a strong rental location.
All the windows of another house in this terrace were recently replaced, attracting the attention of Cork City Council who are keen to keep this terrace’s integrity.
A letter was issued to the home owner by the Council’s conservation officer outlining conditions for protecting listed buildings.
The apartment on the third floor consists of a sitting room, kitchen and bedroom on the first level.
Upstairs there’s another bedroom and a bathroom. A velux window at the back of the home lets light into the top level.
“Most of the homes sold in this terrace have been bought by investors,” said Mr Gosling.
There’s a long private back garden, which is unusual for properties located so close to the city centre.
