Chance to acquire unit in major city shopping centre

THE chance to get in the door of one of the better-placed units in the Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork has come up for grabs.

The centre, bought out last year by Tesco, who are building themselves a new 60,000 sq ft unit to open in November, is to get 11 new retail units in the space which will then be vacated by Tesco: they are in for planning for 23,000 sq ft of retail units, averaging from 2,000 sq ft a piece.

Currently on the market in the bustling centre is unit 17 and 18b,a double fronted unit of 880 sq ft with 36ft net frontage on to one of the busier mall strips near Porters, by the heavily used entrance closest to the CUH.

Brian Edwards of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald is handling the sale of the lease, and seeks a premium of 150,000 for the unit.

Current passing rent is 61,464, due for review in 2004, with the two linked units held under similar lease terms.
