Little Island development land back on market

RECENTLY rezoned in the new Cork County Development Plan, a portion of development land on Little Island in Cork is back on the market with a €7.5 million price guide.

Some 78 acres of land is being sold by Rob and Violet Vickery at Courtstown house with twenty acres zoned for industrial usage, and the balance, 58 acres, zoned open space and amenity but with possible middle to long-term development and certainly with hope value.

It is one of the last undeveloped tracts on Little Island, east of the Jack Lynch Tunnel and the city centre.

The accompanying aerial photograph is a few years old, and doesn’t show the arrival of the East Gate Business Park and Euro Business Park, and also on the island are Cork Golf Club and Harbour Point Golf Club.

Under advanced development nearby is the city’s waste water treatment complex at Carrigrennan.

Selling agent is Kevin O’Connell of Dan O’Conell & Co auctioneers in Glounthane, who says the land is unserviced and freehold.

He adds that he also has forty adjoining acres of farmland with industrial zoning available from another owner if required.

Nearby, Casey and Kingston has seven acres currently on the market, zoned and serviced, with a €2.8 million guide.
