New apartments are just right for Santa’s sack

THORNHILL is probably the last Cork city centre offering of 2005 - and will probably be wrapped up for Christmas.

New apartments are just right for Santa’s sack

Just 18 apartments are being delivered to this Ballinlough Road, southside address, are expected to sell quickly and once unwrapped will be a gift that goes on giving.

Very well finished, the standard of the 18 units won’t disappoint the recipients. Some have private gardens, others have deep, usable roof-top balconies, and all are securely presented, on a one-acre site beside a public park.

Visible from here, across the park, is the Hegarty apartments scheme, The Willows, on Boreenmanna Road which sold in jig time: Peter Cave of Hamilton Osborne King predicts the same take-up for this offering of 18 apartments.

Twelve are two-bed units, of 700 to 800 sq ft, and six are large one/two-beds, with the second bedroom potential on the mezzanine level of these brick-faced/three/four floor buildings.

Prices for first-floor two-beds are €365,000, garden units are €375/380/385,000, and the top floor ones with double height living spaces, mezzanine and balconies are €385,000. The mezzanines can be used for guest bed use (futons and sofa beds) but there’s also scope in future to extend across the void to add further floor area.
