Two property package for €750,000 guide

'Little' is the three-bedroomed cottage which was first on this hillside site: it was bought as part of the site and renovated to a very good and comfortable level by builder and former estate agent Paul Davis and his wife Carmel.

Built next, also about two years ago, was 'Large,' the main house, which looks over the shoulder of its wee and older parent property, and both stand front and back on a site of an acre and a quarter.

The main house is large by anyone's standards, with about 3,200 sq ft of space and a good level of internal specification and finishes.

These include a hall with larch wood floor and Brazilian mahogany staircase.

The same dark hardwood is used in the lounge's fireplace surround, and the kitchen is a whopping 30' by 16' affair with tiled floor, pine units and built-in appliances.

To the side is a lovely large 18' by 18' sun room with a low stone wall outside, PVC double glazing, and a solid roof which, like the front porch, utilises the same Franvisa natural slate as the rest of the dwelling and has red ridge tiles capping it off.

The house has a high plumbing and electrical specification, alarmed with panic buttons, surround sound speakers and TV and phone sockets in all rooms, whilst most sanitary ware is Heritage brand.

The four first floor bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, there's an optional bedroom at ground floor level, and the attic level has a sixth bedroom or home office measuring 24' by 16' with Velux skylight.

The front of the house has a Castlemore stone facade, ornate fascia board in PVC, and heating is pressurised and zoned.

Selling agents are Twomey Crowley of Bandon, who seek €750,000 for the unusual property mix of two dissimilar properties.

At least one person who viewed so far has considered removing the front three-bedroomed cottage, while many other aspirant buyers will see a real value in it, either for rental potential or for accommodating guests or different family generations.

Location is half a mile off the main Bandon-Clonakilty road, five minutes out of Bandon.
