Cottage on city fringes in the spotlight

A COTTAGE, at Lehenaghmore, on the fringes of Cork city on a three-quarter acre site, might have been a country home up to recent years, but its proximity to the south ring road and Pouladuff has put it in a development spotlight.

Up behind and beyond it, developer John Deane of Ruden Homes is set to add a further 550 or so homes to his well-finished Matthew Hill scheme on the city’s periphery approach slopes towards the airport: to facilitate this further development, road widening and bend straightening moves are mooted by the front of this cottage by Cork County Council.
