In January, a homeless woman named Rosemary Hughes, who has only 10% vision and who has a guide dog, spoke of how she thought that churches could accommodate homeless people at night (ironically, she met the Pope last year).

Ms Hughes has a valid point. Churches, as well as other large buildings, such as offices, could, with certain alterations, provide cheap accommodation for anyone who needs a place to sleep.
