Music school campaign ends on the right note
The quality of this education has been second to none.
A process was initiated in early 1999 that led to the Government recognising the need for the school to be re-housed in suitable premises.
All the current students and staff are delighted that work should commence shortly and that the landmark building should be ready for the start of the academic year on September 1, 2006.
Many people worked hard, both privately and publicly, to achieve this outcome and they know who they are.
What needs public acknowledgement is the fact that when the project appeared doomed, the people of Cork united and expressed their unequivocal support. Their feelings were expressed and communicated effectively by the media particularly by the Irish Examiner and Evening Echo.
The people of Cork are well served by such newspapers. Thank you.

Director,
