US foreign policy under the microscope

ON October 9, Trinity College Dublin will host an international panel of speakers to debate the merits of America’s current foreign policy.

Speakers will include David Barsamian, co-author of books with Noam Chomsky, Ed Said, and Arundhati Roy; Gideon Rose, managing editor of Foreign Affairs magazine; John Bruton, TD, former Taoiseach; Bill Rammell, UK Foreign Office minister; Prof Sir Michael Howard, world renowned military historian, and professor emeritus at Oxford; William Blum, founder of Washington Free Press and author of Killing Hope and Rogue State; Tom Hanahoe, acclaimed journalist and author of America Rules; Anjem Choudary, leader of militant Islamic group Al Muhajiroun.

A talk will also be given by journalist Michael Jansen 45 minutes prior to the debate on a first-hand account of the situation in Iraq.
