Council accounts were filed in good time

I REFER to the article in the Irish Examiner of May 29 under the heading “Councils break law over failure to file accounts.”

In the article, it was stated that three local authorities Fingal County Council included are now three years late in filing accounts.

Fingal County Council furnished its annual accounts for 2000 to the Department of the Environment and Local Government on July 16, 2001, and the accounts for 2001 were submitted on October 22, 2002.
