They're strong on hypocrisy, weak on history
Why are they not staging mass rallies outside the Chinese embassy against the illegal invasion, occupation and 'forced regime change' in Tibet, and China's appalling human rights record?
Where were the 'peace camps' and protesters at Shannon when it was being used on a regular basis by Soviet military aircraft?
Why were certain Irish politicians not bleating about violations of our neutrality then? There were no Sinn Féin politicians at Shannon then, marching at the head of protesters with placards proclaiming, 'Don't bomb innocent women and children!'.
These people should remember that it is particularly because of the US that they take for granted the freedom and democracy in Europe today, with neither the swastika nor the hammer and sickle flying over our government buildings.
This democracy gives them the freedom to protest so selectively and hypocritically against their old favourites, the US and Britain. They are certainly not doing it in my name.
They should be thankful they never had to live under Saddam's regime where they would have been detained without trial, tortured and executed.
