One rule for all

KEVIN Jordan gave me some food for thought with his letter about clamping illegally-parked cars (The Irish Examiner, August 7).

He forgets that the main reason for clamping or removing illegally-parked cars is to ensure enforcement of the law, a law which, like all our others, applies to everyone equally.

It also provides a powerful incentive not to repeat the offence, which in turn leads to less illegal parking on our streets.
