M4 is not up to speed

IN your issue of January 17 you quote the M4 Eurolink operations manager as saying they estimate time savings on the motorway of up to an hour on a round trip.

If that was the case, most hauliers would be using it. The fact is that it saves nothing on the Galway run and five minutes on the Longford/Mullingar run.

And we have to buy another tag for €36 - yet in 1999 the NRA committed themselves to universal tagging. We now have a tag for the M1 and M50. How many tags, under current NRA thinking, are we going to end up with - enough to block a driver’s view?
