IT was reported recently that Fianna Fáil fundraisers are about to create a new, exclusive ‘golden circle’ of party contributors.

Apparently, the newly-created Forum for Opportunity will allow members of the business community special access to ministers and TDs in return for annual contributions of €4,500.

Does this spell the end of Bertie Ahern’s recent conversion to socialism, or was that just another example of political opportunism?
