Pensions ‘theft’ brings law into disrepute

Now, however, as we see scandal after scandal unfolding in our ‘bright new Ireland,’ we find that we need no longer go as far as the Third World.

The latest revelations about the powerful robbing the weak and poor in Ireland shock nobody. What is shocking, however, is that the Government should seek to use the law to legalise such theft from pensioners.

It’s a sad reflection on what we have become in modern Ireland.

Does morality count for anything in our country any more? Or justice?

Is it any wonder that so much law is held in such contempt by so many when it is thus cynically misused by politicians?
