Dana put principles before politics
Was her work appreciated here? The opinion polls don’t suggest that it was, and it isn’t difficult to understand why. She put her conscience before political and other considerations.
She was isolated and treated very unfairly by people who ought to know better, and her efforts were belittled and denigrated, especially by party politicians. Ireland is becoming hostile to Christian values. It would be a bad day for democracy not to have a presidential election.
