I COULDN’T believe my eyes when I saw the story about the vicar in England who told children Santa was dead (Irish Examiner, Dec. 11).

I was as upset as the vicar’s congregation and feel you, too, made a serious misjudgement.

Was the Irish Examiner so short of news that it was considered necessary to put that sorry story on the front page?
