Treat TG4 equally
Regrettably, the Irish Examiner does not seem totally immune from this attitude. When are the weekend TV pages going to carry proper listings for TG4 rather than just the bare bones?
When it comes to the soaps, many media commentators seem to suffer from a colonial cringe. They go on and on about Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street while ignoring not only Ros na Rún but often Fair City as well and that's a programme with an high viewership.
They are currently making a great issue of Coronation Street's first gay relationship. I don't think many viewers of the Irish soaps will see this as a big deal. Both Ros na Rún and Fair City have featured gay characters for years.
